100 years ago the Russian Revolution was one of the landmarks that changed the history of the whole world. This trip was started in collaboration with Smithsonian Institution
to chase the invisible «marks» of the 1917 Revolution through the cities in modern Russia.
After I met Ludmila, a 100 y.o. woman whose family saw Tsar monarchy with own eyes, I’ve expanded my research. I follow the traces of Empire, Soviet Union, and Federation that were left in Russia within one human life.
For three years (2017 - present) I have been documenting and interviewing people throughout Russia to see how people’s attitude towards the past and major historical events change from generation to generation. In this selection there are photographs from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other Russian cities.
